It sounds like a Christian cliché, and it's often used that way. But that doesn't diminish the meaning or make it any less powerfully true.
God is good.
Even when things go terribly wrong...when all hell seems to have literally broken loose. And He is not only good, but faithful, merciful, and gracious.
The hymn that TulipGirl posted this morning is so wonderfully appropriate when circumstances overwhelm us and we don't know what to do next. Christ is the Solid Rock upon which we stand.
And when we're too weak to stand? He carries us.
