Read this post for context. Lest readers of both this blog and Mr. Carlton's blog (www.jacklewis.com) think I have suddenly dropped out of the discussion over there, please be assured that I have tried to post new comments, really I have. But I get stuck in some sort of endless loop of error messages. I even tried another browser. Perhaps, as my Reformed friends would say, I should accept this as providential, and merely content myself with following the discussion for now, rather than participating. In any case, I think that the more recent turns in the discussion have revealed that Mr. Carlton is firmly committed to the rightness of the Pearls' advice and to the notion that this parenting method, if applied "correctly", cannot fail. I am unwilling to give that endorsement of infallibility to any human teaching, especially not from that particular source. Further discussion, therefore, does seem fruitless. |

His blog is completely offline Rebecca. I don't know if that's temporary or permanent. It can be easy to get caught up with those kind of discussions but it can also confuse people. You've written some good posts on this issue with clarity.
ReplyDeleteFirst time here, but I like your blog. And I agree, discussion does at times seem fruitless. But on the internet, our audience is much larget than the person we appear to be talking to. So it isn't always as fruitless as it seems. Just a thought.
