In the early years of our marriage, we lived in southern California where, as we all know, it pretty much never rains. I realized what a rarity rain was one day when Eldest Son, age 3 at the time, suddenly exclaimed with alarm, "Mama! What is that wet stuff falling from the sky?!"
Where we live now it supposedly rains a bit more. However, we've had a couple years of semi-drought which have hopefully now ended. I've been enjoying our recent rain, not just because it's very much needed but because...well, because I'm one of those people who loves rain.
Today I had fun driving through some rather impressive puddles and checking out how the rain has been changing the local landscape.
Although the dirt race track has been flooded far worse in the past, it still had a lot of water in and around it:
