We've been working feverishly today with last minute Christmas preparations. This morning several of us did the last of the grocery shopping. Then it was back home to clean the house. It seemed that everyone was going hither and yon. A few had to make various mysterious trips into town, presumably for presents. The younger guys baked batches of cookies.
Now most of the work is done, except for what has to wait for tomorrow. The place already looks festive, with the dining table set for tomorrow's dinner. The kitchen needs some more work to get everything put away, but I'm too tired to deal with it.
I've been listening to Christmas favorites all day long, while doing laundry, cleaning, and other chores. It's hard to believe that we will begin celebrating tomorrow; I feel as if the distractions and busy hectic nature of the past month has kept me from really getting as ready as I would like to be.
